How do I edit or update my dog's profile?

Pet Parents: 

To edit or update your pup’s profile, make sure you are logged in to your Embark account, then scroll to the bottom of their “About” page and click the “His/Her profile and settings” button.

From this page, you will be able to edit:

• Their profile picture (by clicking the camera icon just above “Edit profile picture”)
• Their details
  • Name
  • Sex
  • Neutered status
  • Microchip number (optional)
  • Their story (this will appear on their profile and relatives page)
  • Their journey
    • Birthplace
    • Birthday
    • Place of adoption
    • Date of adoption
    • Current location
• Their socials (Instagram, TikTok, and X)
• Their tests

Under the heading labeled “Settings”, you’ll be able to edit:

• Privacy - you can toggle on or off elements from your pup’s profile or results that will be visible on their public profile. All settings are defaulted to public except health results.
• Data - you can opt in or out of scientific research (this setting is defaulted to opted in)

Under the heading labeled “More actions”, you’ll be able to:

• View their public page
• Manage Pet Parents & Transfer Ownership to another user who already has an Embark account
• Mark pet as deceased 🙁
  • You’ll also be able to add or update:
    • Date of death
    • Cause of death
    • You can also opt out of receiving updates about the pet (such as new relatives)
• You can also hide a pet’s profile

Here's what this page looks like!

To switch between pet profiles, click on your pup’s name in the upper left-hand corner of the screen (circled in red below). This will open a panel on the right side of your screen that lists all your dogs. Then, click the name of the dog whose profile you’d like to visit! You can also add a new dog to your account from this screen.

Breeders:

To edit or update your dog’s profile, make sure you are logged in to your Embark account. Then:

1. Click “View summary” of the dog whose profile you want to edit.
2. Once in the dog’s Summary page, click “Profile” at the top of the screen.
3. Select the Edit Profile link below your dog’s name
4. From here, you can edit any content section with an Edit button. Choose a section to edit.  
   • Profile Photo: Add New or Choose from your Gallery 
   • Name & Story: Add or Edit your dog's name (both Registered and Call Name), a short bio or story, and their Titles. 
   • Details: Sex, Intact or Not Intact, Date of Birth, Breed, Registration Information, and Microchip. 
   • Location: Where the dog currently lives, where you got your dog from, and where your dog was born. 
   • Social Media: Twitter and Instagram 
   • Privacy Settings: Opt in or out of Contributing to Research, Share Breed, Health, Traits, Profile Picture, and/or Photos and Video on their public profile. 
   • Ownership: Add Shared Owners or Transfer Ownership 
   • Actions: Has your dog passed away, Hide your dog, Remove your dog 
   • Settings: Update Privacy and Communication Settings

Select “save” before navigating away from your dog’s profile!
