Is the app free to download and use? Yes! The Embark mobile app is completely free to download from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. There are no charges for downloading or using the basic features of the app. The app provides access to your dog's test results, account management, and other core Embark services at no additional cost.
What are the system requirements? The Embark mobile app requires iOS 13.0 or later for Apple devices, and Android 6.0 (API level 23) or later for Android devices.
Do I need to create an account to use the app? Yes, you'll need an Embark account to use the mobile app. If you already have Embark DNA test results, you already have an account and can log in using the same email address. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one at www.embarkvet.com or through the app's registration process. Note that the app is most useful after you've ordered and received results from an Embark DNA test.
Can I use the app on multiple devices? Yes, you can log into your Embark account on multiple devices using the same login credentials.
Features & Functionality
Are there ads or in-app purchases? No, the Embark mobile app does not contain advertisements or in-app purchases. We believe in providing a clean, distraction-free experience for accessing your dog's important health and genetic information. All features available in the app are included without additional fees, though DNA tests or other Embark products are purchased through our standard ordering process.
How much storage space does the app use? The Embark mobile app uses approximately 20 MB of storage on your device (roughly equivalent to 5-10 high-resolution photos).
Does the app work offline? The Embark mobile app currently does not have offline functionality and requires an internet connection to access your dog's results and account information.
Privacy & Data
How is my data protected and shared? We take your privacy seriously. Here's a simple overview:
- No data brokers: We don't share your information with third-party data brokers
- Marketing communications: Information from account creation may be used for email marketing through our platform, but only if you consent to marketing communications
- Web content: When you view Embark web content within the app (like our shop), standard web tracking may collect session information
