On the box sleeve and on the swab's sterile packaging.
Activating your swab is a required and very important part of the testing process. This allows us to efficiently and accurately return the results from each swab to the correct person for the correct dog. Because it is so important, we make it quick and easy.
Please remember that it is the customer's responsibility to properly activate each swab to their dog's MyEmbark profile. Our staff will not see any notes or messages written on or submitted with the packaging. If you have questions, please contact us before mailing the swab to reduce the chance of a delay. |
For Pet Owner Kits
There is a barcode sticker located on the outside sleeve of your box as well as on the swab's sterile packaging.
For Embark for Breeders Kits
You can find the activation code on top of the envelope your swab comes in and on the back of the swab itself.
Important Note:
Have Multiple Kits? We highly recommend completing one kit at a time to avoid a mixup. Activate your first swab and collect that sample before moving on to the second dog.
Label your swab packages! There should be a space on the swab label for you to write your dog's name - Please note that this is for your organization only. We are not able to find lost and/or unactivated swabs by manually searching for the names written on the packages.
Finding your Activation and Swab Codes on your MyEmbark Account
Once you've activated your test kit, you can find your activation and swab codes at any time by looking at your dog's profile on your MyEmbark Account.
- Log in to your MyEmbark account
- Click on your dog's profile card and click 'View Profile'.
- Click 'Edit Profile'.
- Scroll down to the 'Kit Registration Information' section.
Most genotyping results will be completed in 2-4 weeks from the time we scan your swab at our lab. Completion times may vary for other Embark products. Check the status of your test here! |
