Activating your test is one of the most important steps to ensure we accurately and efficiently return your dog's results to you.
| Please remember that it is the customer's responsibility to properly activate each swab to their dog's Embark profile. Our staff will not see any notes or messages written on or submitted with the packaging. If you have questions, please contact us before mailing the swab to reduce the chance of a delay. |

For Pet Parents:
- Log in to your Embark account.
- Be sure you have a profile created for the dog whose kit you'd like to activate.
- When a new dog is added to your account, you will be asked if you'd like to activate a test for that pet. Alternatively, you can also activate a test by clicking "Start now" under the breeds, health, or traits section, or by clicking "Activate a kit" at the bottom of the page.
- First, you'll be asked what type of kit you are looking to activate.
- Next, you will enter the 7 or 8-digit EM code located on your kit's packaging. Please Note: If your EM code does not work, click on the "Don't have an EM code?" link. You'll then be prompted to enter the 14-digit swab code (it typically starts with 310 or 312) found on the swab tube.
- You'll be asked to double check the code you entered matches the code found on your kit.
- You're all set! Please return the swab as soon as possible, and get excited to see results!
