Our veterinary geneticists can help you interpret your dog's results
What is genetic counseling?
Genetic counseling provides you with information on the chance of genetically inherited diseases in offspring based on their parents' genetic profiles. This can be provided prior to testing to understand which tests would be beneficial to you and your dog or breeding program, or it can be provided after you get your test results to help you understand the implications for your breeding program and the best way to proceed.
How do I receive genetic counseling from Embark?
You may send us an email or call with your questions during normal business hours. We will be happy to answer your questions and provide the help you need to care for your dog, or select an appropriate breeding pair based on genetic results.
Do I need to buy an Embark test to get genetic counseling?
Our staff is here to help, no matter where you had your testing performed. We cannot ensure the quality of tests from other providers, but we are happy to help you interpret them as best as we can. Be sure to have your reports available when you call us so that we have the information needed to assist you. The reports should have the specific genes tested and your dog's results.
