Swab Thoroughly!
As long as you follow our sample collection guide, your collected sample should not be impacted by dogs licking each other or eating from the same food bowls.
A 60-second swab inside of their cheek pouch gives us an ample amount of the intended dog's DNA!
If you are especially concerned, separate them for 30 to 60 minutes before swabbing to prevent any impact.
But what if my swab DOES get contaminated?
If two sets of DNA are found on one swab, they float around together and look like a big red flag to our quality control team!
This means that a contaminated swab will never produce results that we can send to you. If you receive results, everything worked out perfectly!
