Color Dilution Alopecia (CDA) is a tricky one because there is still no known direct genetic cause for it. Dogs who have CDA are always dilute, however, not all dilute dogs will end up developing CDA. Because CDA is more common in dilute dogs of certain breeds than others, it's suspected that there are other genetic factors at play that just haven't been found yet.
Embark currently tests for the D locus variant which is noted in this paper: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17519392/. We hope to add testing for d2 and d3 in the future.
