Other than research, Embark's primary focus is on Breeders, and we are working to make our product the only test for your genetic testing needs. We'd love to hear your feedback so that we can continue to meet your expectations. Please reach out early and often, and we will be happy to help.
Embark is dedicated to helping you make better breeding decisions. Our comprehensive DNA test provides the most complete genetic profile of any single test available on the market today—for about half the cost of the typical battery of breed tests.
In addition, we are also committed to helping improve the overall health of your breed. In just six months, we built the largest canine database in the world to find even deeper genetic insights. We are continuing to expand it so that one day many of the worst genetic diseases can be gone forever. Our commitment to canine health is why Embark continues to actively work with breed clubs and foundations to find new genetic information about the diseases affecting individual breeds.
However, Breeders bring a special level of knowledge to this discovery process. So we are reaching out and asking you to tell us what health conditions you are most concerned about—we want to focus our research on our customers' concerns.
Breeders receive special discounted pricing for orders greater than one test kit. Order 2 or more kits and save $10 per kit. Order 5 or more kits and save $20 per kit. Order 10 or more kits and save $30 per kit.
With one simple saliva swab, Embark now identifies the following:
- More than 160 genetic diseases or risk factors
- An expanded range of 15 coat colors and traits
- Genetic COI and DLA (immune) diversity measures
- Genetic breed identification may be added at any time
Important Note: The OFA has informed Embark that they will accept our results for all breed-applicable testing. However, it is their policy for specific tests to only list patent licensees on their website. These tests include include MDR1, PRA, and VWD 1. Results for those tests are still provided to you by Embark and remain useful for assessing the health of your dogs and should be accepted when submitted to the OFA.
In addition, here are all of the coat colors and traits that we can report for your review:
- A Locus (Agouti): ay, aw, ay, a
- B Locus (Brown): B, b
- D Locus (Dilute): D, d
- E Locus (Mask/Grizzle): Em, Eg, E, e
- K Locus (Dominant Black): KB, ky

For both purebred and mixed-breed dogs, we also are providing you with a coefficient of inbreeding (COI), which is a measure of how related the parents of your dog were; additionally, we are providing the immune diversity at the Dog Leukocyte Antigen DQA1-DQB1 and DRB1 loci.
Genetic testing is changing the face of human health care. Similarly, we believe it will revolutionize the way dogs are bred, placed, and ultimately cared for over their lifetimes. This presents an opportunity: MAKE AN INVESTMENT IN YOUR REPUTATION.
