Can my test expire?

Yes, a DNA test kit can expire.

Based on our manufacturer's guidelines, each swab remains effective for two years from purchase. You will be unable to activate your product after those two years and will need to purchase another test after those 24 months.

Do samples expire?

A properly collected DNA sample should last in the tube with the included stabilizing fluid for 6 months to a year. We cannot make any guarantees as every sample is unique, so we recommend that you send the sample back to us as quickly as possible after collection. If the sample does not work, we will let you know and send you a free replacement swab.
