Results including bully breeds can sometimes be a bit confusing, as these breeds are quite closely related.
It's quite common for mixed and single-breed American Pit Bull Terriers to have American Bully relatives and vice-versa. Despite being genetically distinct breeds, they share a close genetic history, as APBTs (among other breeds) were used as foundational breeds to develop the American Bully. We sometimes see American Bully relatives for APBTs and vice-versa when the APBTs in question were bred into a line of American Bullies.
Embark currently includes American Bully as part of our breed reference panel, though this breed was not included in earlier versions of our test. Although our reference population of this breed is robust, certain diverse lines of Bullies may display some ancestry from the component breeds used to create those lines.
