Because they're different processes, we can't get both the results from the same swab or the same data. You will need to swab your dog again. You also cannot upgrade your DNA kit to add Age Test results.
The DNA tests are based on your dog’s DNA sequence that was present from birth. An epigenetic test instead tells us about your dog’s unique life and how that has impacted the structure of their DNA. You will still swab your dog, but the DNA will go through different processes in the lab to tell us about its epigenetic state.
Do I need to swab again?
Yes! Because the swab is processed differently, one swab can’t be used for genetic tests as well as methylation tests. We also can not re-run a dog’s existing genotyping results with an Age Test sample.
