As of 2021, Embark has made some exciting new changes to the My Embark for Breeders page. After hearing from breeders' about their online needs and requested improvements, Embark is launching an upgrade for desktop and mobile device users as a foundational first step to bring breeders a better results experience. No action is needed on the part of the breeder to view the new page; just sign into or refresh your account and enjoy!
In the former iteration of our breeder page, the card view on desktop looked like this:
Here’s what you can expect to see when you next sign in:
Let’s take a look at what has changed with this update!
Breeder Tools
The improved My Embark for Breeders page gives easy access to a host of breeder tools at the top of the page, including Add a Dog, Activate Kit(s), Kennel Profile, Dog Settings, and Matchmaker.
- Add a Dog encourages breeders to add a dog to their account that may not yet be Embark-tested but is part of their breeding program. This might include dogs that have been used for frozen semen breedings from deceased sires.
- Activate Kit(s) is a quick shortcut to activate any new kits for dams, sires, or litters that are about to be swabbed and DNA tested.
- Kennel Profile showcases a breeder's kennel, business, or breeding program contact information.
- NEW personalization feature: Once a breeder fills out their kennel/breeding program name in their kennel profile, it will appear as the header on the My Embark for Breeders page (see example of “Northlane” above the Breeder Tools section). If you do not list a name, your page will show “My Embark for Breeders.”
- Dog Settings gives breeder’s control over which test results (i.e. breed, health, traits) are shared on each dog’s public profile
- You can also navigate to your “SETTINGS” section to select the default privacy setting for all your dogs here:
...or by navigating to each individual dog’s profile, selecting the “EDIT PROFILE” button, and using the “PRIVACY SETTINGS” section here:
- You can also navigate to your “SETTINGS” section to select the default privacy setting for all your dogs here:
- Matchmaker is a tool to help search and identify potential breeding matches. It appears in the breeder tools section if your breed is one of the 44 breeds now available.
- Matchmaker contact notifications will now show at the top of the page as collapsible messages. If there are no messages, or if all messages are deleted, this notification section will not show. If a message is accidentally deleted, the notification was also originally sent via email.

Dog Navigation and Insights
The streamlined view of dogs in the My Embark for Breeders page is now optimized for accounts with multiple dogs.
- My Dogs Navigation
- My Dogs will indicate the number of dogs in an account. This number will change based on search terms or if there are any hidden/unhidden dogs.
- Search Bar is a new feature that helps breeders search for a dog either by its call name or its registered name.
- Sort By allows the breeder to choose sorting options for their list of dogs including Order Added, Age or Call Name.
- Card and List View presents different ways to view the dogs on the page.
- Dogs Per Page is a new feature that allows breeders to choose whether to view 10, 25 or 50 dogs per page in both the card view or list view. Breeders can also select which page they’d like to view. If you have hidden any dogs, a “show hidden dogs” toggle will appear in this navigation bar at the bottom of the page.
- Dog Cards
- Genetic COI % will now appear on each dog’s card which directly links on desktop to an updated COI results section on the health summary page. On mobile, click on the dog’s card and navigate to “”Explore” > Health”. The Genetic Health and Inbreeding section is now directly below the dog’s Health Summary details. Click “Learn More” above the chart to see the full Genetic Diversity page.
- Genetic Breed references on the dog’s card have been simplified to a breed name or Mixed Breed classification.
- Previously, a color “halo” and the breed % (if applicable based on the kit tested with) would be indicated on the card.
- All of your dog’s detailed ancestry/breed details will still show on your dog’s breed tab. To access, click on the dog’s profile card, and navigate to the Breed tab (desktop), or Explore > Breed (mobile)
- Share has been simplified to the most popular action of copying your dog’s public profile link. Click the “Share” icon and the link will be automatically copied. Paste the link wherever you’d like to provide it.
- If you’d like to access other public profile share options, like email, Facebook or download, click your dog’s card and scroll down to Explore > Share to choose from these additional options.
