How does the Shelter & Rescue Program work?
Our Shelter & Rescue Program (available to US and Canadian orgs) provides unique discounts to your adopters, opportunities to earn commissions or credits towards Breed ID tests, access to purchase discounted tests, educational content, and more! Embark will provide you with promotional materials to share with your adopters. Any activated kits purchased through you will directly benefit your shelter or rescue. Commission payments (either dollars or Breed ID tests) will be issued quarterly to the shelter or rescue organization.
What is needed to sign up?
Please use this form to sign up. Information required to sign up includes:
- Name of the shelter / rescue org*
- Shelter type*
- 501c3 / Tax ID Number*
- Website
- Mailing address (US or Canadian)
- Annual shelter intake (Approximate)
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your role at the shelter
Please note: shelters will remain part of our program while active. If there is 12 months of inactivity (no purchases from adopters), your organization may be excluded from the program.
I have just signed my shelter up via the form; what’s next?
We will review your request within 3-5 business days. At this point, if accepted, you will receive an email confirming your account acceptance and we will mail flyers to the mailing address provided so you can start sharing this unique discount with your adopters! You will also receive email confirmation of your mailed flyers.
We will update you quarterly with your commission ($) earned, or status for free tests (depending on your preference selected). If you have any questions or feedback on this program, reach out to shelters@embarkvet.com at any time!
What does the shelter earn from this program?
As part of this program, shelters have the opportunity to either earn commissions ($) or free Breed Identification tests.
Our shelter partners also have the opportunity to purchase significantly discounted tests to test the dogs in their care before adoption.
Can my shelter purchase discounted tests from Embark?
We are very happy to offer deeply discounted products for your shelter to purchase either for use on dogs in your care, or to resell tests directly to your adopters. If you’re interested in making a purchase for your shelter or rescue organization, please reach out to shelters@embarkvet.com to place an order.
Please note: at this time, we are not able to support reselling Embark tests in an online retail space, but if this would be of interest to you, please let us know at shelters@embarkvet.com.
What products are included in this program?
At this time, this program only includes offers specific to Embark’s Breed ID and Breed & Health tests. If you have any questions about this, or any product-specific questions, please reach out to shelters@embarkvet.com.
How do I request more marketing materials?
Please reach out to shelters@embarkvet.com to request additional flyers (in quantities of 100). Please be prepared to share your Shelter/Rescue’s name and mailing address.

What are the eligibility requirements of Embark’s Shelter & Rescue Program?
Any shelter/rescue organization that fits the following requirements is eligible to participate in Embark’s Shelter & Rescue Program:
- Shelter/Rescue Name
- Shelter/Rescue Contact Name
- Contact Email
- Verified Mailing Address*
- *Must be located within the US or Canada at this time
- Verified Tax ID Number
- Contact information for a shelter decision-maker
Will you share my dog’s DNA data with anyone?
Embark will never share information without your consent. If you choose to allow it, we may use your dog’s anonymized genetic data to assist our scientists and partners in research to improve canine healthcare, nutrition, and genetic disease treatment.
