Embark is actively working to expand our breed database. We do so by collecting samples from breeders with dogs with verified papers from registration bodies. We also work to improve our detection algorithm over time.
If it has been at least 12 months since you first received results and you would like your dog’s breed ID re-run on our updated platform because you have noticed new suspected breeds added to our website (www.embarkvet.com/breedlist), we would be happy to do so once as a complimentary service. This service is contingent upon if your dog is assessed as eligible for a rerun by our team at that time (qualifying dogs generally have over 15% Supermutt or specific breed groups that have since been further characterized in our reference panel, etc).
Please contact us at howdy@embarkvet.com for more information and to speak to a team member about re-running your dog. Please keep in mind that depending on when your dog’s sample was originally tested, the breed-mix in your dog, and our updated reference panel, your dog’s results may change or stay the same. Because breed ID results are examined by hand by our science team, this process may take a little bit of time. You will receive an email update when the updated results are released.
Please note: These reruns are available for breed ancestry only- rerunning your dog's results will not provide an update to health testing.
