First of all, we are so sorry for your loss. Everyone at Embark knows the positive impact dogs have on our lives.
Currently, our lab is set up to routinely process Embark-specific cheek swabs. However, we have non-standard ways of utilizing other samples, such as tissue, blood, and semen, and this requires special ordering and handling. Atypical samples other than saliva are reviewed and accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Please email us at howdy@embarkvet.com, or, if you’re a breeder, breeders@embarkvet.com to inquire about potentially testing an atypical sample.

Hi, although my dog hadn’t eaten in hours, there were black flecks on the swab after swabbing his cheek pouch and minimal saliva although I rubbed for 60 sec. Should I send this swab or ask for a replacement swab?
