First of all, we are so sorry for your loss. Everyone at Embark knows the positive impact dogs have in our lives. Perhaps the only drawback of having dogs is that, inevitably, we have to lose them.
Currently, our lab is set up to routinely process Embark-specific cheek swabs. We have non-standard ways of utilizing other samples, and this requires special ordering and handling. Atypical samples other than saliva are reviewed and accepted on a case-by-case basis. Email us at howdy@embarkvet.com, or, if you’re a breeder, breeders@embarkvet.com to inquire about atypical samples.

Hi, although my dog hadn’t eaten in hours, there were black flecks on the swab after swabbing his cheek pouch and minimal saliva although I rubbed for 60 sec. Should I send this swab or ask for a replacement swab?
